American Artists/Morse and Mount

A 4 page research paper that examines the work of American artists Samuel F.B. Morse and William Sidney Mount, who were contemporaries, but who took very different stances in regards to American art. The writer argues that an examination of Morse's "Gallery of the Louvre" (1832-33) and Mount's "The Painter's Triumph (1838) clearly demonstrates their differing pedagogical views.
